(Affidavit of Understanding)

DivorceEase, a service of Alikhan Law Office, LLC · For signature by the Co-Petitioner

Please read carefully before signing. This document confirms that Alikhan Law Office, LLC does not represent you. You are participating in this joint divorce in proper person (representing yourself).

I am the Co-Petitioner in a Joint Petition for Summary Decree of Divorce under NRS 125.181, prepared with the assistance of Alikhan Law Office, LLC, through Husna Alikhan, Esq. (the "Firm"). I understand and acknowledge the following:

  1. The Firm represents only my spouse (the Petitioner) in this matter. The Firm does not represent me. The Firm is not my lawyer and owes me no duty of loyalty or confidentiality.
  2. I am proceeding in proper person (self-represented). The Firm has prepared documents that I will sign, but preparing those documents does not make the Firm my attorney.
  3. The Firm has not given me legal advice. Any information the Firm or its materials provided to me is general information, not legal advice for my situation.
  4. I have the right to my own attorney. I understand I may consult an independent attorney of my own choosing before signing any document, and I have had the opportunity to do so. I am choosing to proceed without separate counsel.
  5. The divorce is uncontested and agreed. My spouse and I have already agreed on all terms, including the division of property and debts and, if applicable, child custody, visitation, and support. I am signing the joint documents voluntarily and of my own free will, without coercion.
  6. I understand I can stop. If I do not agree with any term, I will not sign, and the matter will no longer be uncontested.

I have read this Acknowledgment, I understand it, and I sign it freely and voluntarily.
